I was born and raised in India. The practice has been part of my life as far back as I can remember — first through family and tradition, later through years of formal study. Eventually I earned a PhD in Yoga from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya in Haridwar. I live and teach now from Naperville, and the practice is still where I begin every day.
Why I teach
I teach because the practice has been with me long enough to know what it can do. The Gita calls it skill in action. In daily life, it’s the pause between trigger and reaction — the small space where you choose your response. Breath, asana, stillness, rest: each one builds a piece of that capacity. I want to share what it took years for me to learn.
I work mostly with adults — often parents, often professionals. Sessions are some combination of pranayama, asana, yoga nidra, and meditation, in whatever balance you need.
